Up North Lodge & Resort was founded by two brothers, John and Mike Northwood, who grew up spending their summers along quiet lakeshores and wooded trails, learning to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of life up north. What began as weekend fishing trips and evenings around a campfire eventually grew into a shared dream: to create a place where others could experience the same sense of peace, connection, and escape.

In the early years, the brothers purchased a small property tucked away among the pines, restoring an old cabin by hand and welcoming their first guests with nothing more than warm hospitality and a love for the outdoors.
